Staying Healthy

This week is National Healthy Weight Week and that means you should not be forgetting about your health! It is so important to give your body the things that it needs to stay healthy and keep you healthy too! Food, water, oxygen are all things that our bodies need in order to survive. But surviving is only part of the story, if we want to live for a long time, we also need to stay healthy. The following are just a few tips that you can follow to stay healthy for National Healthy Weight Week!

One great way to eat better is to eat enough! Staying healthy and eating better also means eating in moderation!! If kicking bad habits is hard for you then this is the best place to start. Eating in moderation is a start to eating healthier and better. Based off of your body mass index and your body type, you can figure out what the recommended calorie intake is for you. The main thing to understand about watching how much you eat is that you can eat things that you like, as long as it’s in moderation. In every meal you should have at least 2-3 servings of vegetables and there should always be protein.

Besides eating less, another option to stay healthy is to eat healthier! Eating foods that are good for your body make you more functional and feel better. Eating meals that are rich in fiber, whole grains, fresh fruits and vegetables, and unsaturated fats helps with maintaining good health throughout the years of your life. As long as you’re eating a well-balanced meal, you’ll be able to diet in a healthy way. There are so many different recipes online that you can use to make easy healthy meals for weight loss. Eating healthy doesn’t mean that you have to stop eating things that you love. For example, if you love tacos, you can have tacos, just adjust the recipe! Instead of having red meat tacos you can try this Baked Fish Taco with Avocado recipe. If you’re a pasta lover, then this Quick Shrimp Puttanesca is also a great idea to try out so you don’t miss out. There are so many other recipes to try out for better and healthy eating.

Moderation of calories and a well-balanced diet are just the starting point of being healthier. Another really important aspect of being healthier is to exercise. Being physically active for 30 minutes 3-4 days a week is really helpful towards your physical and mental health. Being active and getting enough exercise can reduce your risk of heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and depression  and this improves your quality of life in the long run. National Healthy Weight Week is about being healthy and choosing the right things to eat and being active for your own body. Being healthy in general also means reducing stress.

Stress causes a multitude of issues for the human body and when reduced can also alleviate so many of those issues. Meditation, mindfulness, yoga, and resting can all alleviate stress from your life. Stress can be present in your life if you can’t sleep, you get frequent headaches, stomach problems, anger, and addiction to food, alcohol and sometimes drugs. Once you lose some stress you can also lose some weight and be more healthy physically and mentally. Dieting and stress management as well as exercise are the three main ways that we suggest staying healthy. Don’t lose sleep and stay healthy with L.A. Insurance today!
